So it's a Friday night, and you're looking for something to do in Madison...The Monkey Business Institute performs every Friday night at Glass Nickel Pizza east (2916 Atwood Ave in Madison, WI) - and if you haven't seen us lately, here's how we roll... We open the show with a little taste of improv, a sort of improv appetizer to get your mouth watering Next, we deliver a series of classic improv games (some have been modified to MBI standards). Stuff like "Pick 'Em Up", "Broken Script" and "Forward/Reverse"... After a brief intermission, we roar into our NEW EXPERIMENTAL ACT II - which features a series of challenges from one of the performers to the rest of the cast. Invention is the heart and soul of improv - and not knowing what's coming next gets us hot. It's a blast, and our audiences have been raving about the NEW EXPERIMENTAL ACT II! The Sunday ShowThe Glass Nickel is also the home of the Monkey Business Institute's newest performance group, "Out-On-A-Limb-Prov". This new group is made of some very talented up-and-comers in the Improv world, all students of veteran MBI Improvisor Brad Knight. These folks will surprise you with their talent. Shows will run the second Sunday of the month 7pm, tickets $5. |
